Althea E. Frenier, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 15, 1945, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to the late Donald F. and Alice G. (Hocking) Freberg. Althea lived a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories, which she created with her family and friends.
Althea was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William "Bill" F. Frenier, who passed away in 2019. Together, they shared a beautiful life, raising their family in Attleboro, Massachusetts, before retiring to Fort Meade, Florida. The love they shared was a cornerstone of Althea's life, and she carried that love with her until her final days.
She is survived by her son, Robert Frenier and his wife Corrine of Attleboro, and her daughter, Linda Bannon of Seekonk, her sister, Marion Howard of Ft. Pierce, FL. Althea was a proud grandmother to her four granddaughters: Allison Bamforth and her husband Matthew, Ashley Dennehy and her husband Michael, Brittney Bannon and her husband William Plouff, and Kayliegh Frenier. She also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to her beloved great-grandchildren: Cameron and Owen Bamforth, Kason Dennehy, Greyson Plouff, and Mackenzie Leafer. Althea's family was her greatest treasure, and she took immense pride in each of their accomplishments and joys.
Althea had a vibrant spirit and lived life to the fullest. She owned Twin Village Ceramics in the 1980s, where she nurtured her creativity and passion for art. Her entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by her adventurous nature; Althea was a proud member of the Goldwing Retread Motorcycle Club and cherished the countless miles she traveled on her motorcycle. She loved camping, boating, and snowmobiling, creating lasting memories under the stars and alongside the water.
Burial will be held privately at Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth.
